SLI Design Services
Signals, Lighting, and ITS (SLI) Design for NDOT Project EA 74319 – SR 595 Rainbow Blvd ADA Project, NDOT/Kimley-Horn, Las Vegas, NV.
The scope of services includes providing a comprehensive and biddable set of SLI design documents to be included in the larger set of design plans for this project. Project limits are Rainbow Boulevard from Tropicana Avenue to Silverstream Avenue. SLI scope includes ADA compliance of pole locations, replacement of older signal poles, replacement of pedestrian pushbuttons, addition / relocation of signal heads to align them with travel lanes, and replacement of existing high pressure sodium luminaires in the project limits. As a DBE sub to Kimley-Horn, S2 provided design oversight and quality assurance support for the project.
Land Development Traffic Design Services
Tropical Losee Town Homes Phase 1, Harmony Homes/Strive Engineering, North Las Vegas, NV.
The scope of services included the design of traffic signal modification plan and schedules for the intersection of Tropical Parkway and Losee Road. S2 performed existing signal infrastructure research and modified signal heads and mast arm signs based on new lane geometry of the eastbound approach. New loop detectors were added for the eastbound to northbound left turn lanes of the intersection. The intersection was modified from a protective-permissive left turning operation for the east and west approaches to a protected left turning operation.
Information Technology (IT) Services
Signals, Lighting, and ITS (SLI) Design Forecasting Tool and Design Schedule Updates, NDOT/CA Group, Las Vegas, NV
This task order includes the development of spreadsheets, tools, and/or applications to be used for forecasting SLI designer workloads and also updating the SLI design schedules. The maintenance of these IT tools may include, but is not limited to, upgrades and data entry. An in-depth knowledge is required of Microsoft Suite/Office 365 including but not limited to Access, Excel, and Business Intelligence (BI). Visual Basics for Applications (VBA) knowledge is essential in addition to understanding macro development, pivot tables, complex formulas, data types, queries, scripts, code review and editing. In addition, data analysis skills, database development, software debugging and problem-solving skills are required. The work will include the development of integrated Excel workbooks with multiple tables interconnected using coding and macros. The Excel files may need integration with a dashboard. The collection of interlinked spreadsheets and/or tables, with data flows between the workbooks or worksheets through the use of formulas, macros, and Visual Basic for Applications (VBA) coding, allowing for dynamic data updating and management, enabling complex data analysis, reporting, and decision-making processes.
